To celebrate Chinese New Year, Frances Wood, renowned historian of China and former curator of the Chinese collections at the British Library, discusses the books that have shaped the Chinese literary canon, explored in her new book Great Books of China.
Frances Wood is a librarian, sinologue and historian known for her writings on Chinese history. Her publications include The First Emperor of China, 2007, and The Lure of China: Writers from Marco Polo to J. G. Ballard, 2009.
