Award-winning sculptor Laurence Edwards talks about the thinking behind his sculptural work rooted in the male figure, relating it to the landscape surrounding his Suffolk studios. He also reveals the challenges of creating and casting his largest commission to date, a 26ft high bronze colossus, as well as other projects, including a large, multi-portrait commission recording and celebrating the Doncaster mining community.
Laurence Edwards studied Sculpture at Canterbury College of Art from 1985-88, and Bronze casting and Sculpture at the Royal College of Art, London from 1988-1990. Since then his work has been exhibited and sited all over the world, including the UK, Germany, the US, Canada and Australia.
In partnership with The Society of Portrait Sculptors.
