BP Travel Award 2010
The BP Travel Award is an annual award of £5,000, to allow artists to experience working in a different environment on a project related to portraiture.
In 2010 the Award was given to Florence-based American artist Paul Beel. Paul visited Corfu for a month to paint a large-scale polyptych of a nudist beach and the wide range of locals and tourists that he encountered there. The resulting painting Epic Mirtiotissa and a video portrait of Paul’s month on the island will be shown in this year's exhibition.
