DJ Sophie Callis

Sophie Callis plays a set inspired by Michael Jackson. Sophie says: At aged 7 I demanded my parents go to purchase me the 'BAD' album to play on my very first cassette player  (Fisher Price)!!  I remember that day so clearly.  How I studied the album obsessively, creating dance routines and learning every word.  Needless to say MJ has been a very consistent inspirational force in my life from a young age.  To me he represents Passion, Power and Truth.

Sophie Callis has graced decks worldwide with her signature fusion of Jazz Funk, Soul, Boogie, Electro, House, Hip-Hop and World Music. From underground clubs and festivals to exclusive events, Callis continues to make regular appearances at many reputable venues worldwide. She has earned her stripes over the years playing London/Paris Fashion Week, Louis Vuitton, 2012 Olympics, MTV/EMI music, as well as spinning for the legendary Quincy Jones. Callis will always have her roots firmly planted within London’s underground music scene, a true purist at heart who can mix and blend her way onto any dance floor. As a member of Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide family, Callis has shared the beach stage at Worldwide Festival for a number of years.  She also presents the Callis In Wonderland specialist music show on Soho Radio London.

Part of the programme of events complementing Michael Jackson: On the Wall.
