Gain a Queer Perspective on our Collection with resident artist Sadie Lee and her special guest, David Lock, artist and nephew of Joe Orton, as they discuss portraits which have a personal resonance.
David Lock graduated with an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College in 2001, following a first class BA (hons) degree in Fine Art from the University of Reading.
He has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally. He is currently showing a site-specific collage installation (with paintings) in Rules of Freedom at Collyer Bristow Gallery, London. Recent exhibitions have included a solo show, Fragmented Eros at studio1.1 in London, July 2018. The prestigious John Moores Painting Prize 2018 at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Creative Rage at Stoke Potteries Museum, Stoke, What the Artist Saw: Art Inspired by the Life and Work of Joe Orton, MOCA, London, and travelled to New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, Leicester. An interview and feature with David Lock is in the latest edition of Floorr Magazine. He lives and works in London.
