Making a Mark programme

Key Stage 2

History and Art workshops: using art works and photographs to explore portraits, students will paint each others’ portraits and work with a professional photographer in the Victorian street to create their own Victorian photographic portraits.

You can use our online resources to help students explore personal, local and national identity as an extension to museum visits or to enrich classroom work.

It’s great for the staff and children to draw on other peoples expertise. It’s the kind of ‘Hands On’ experience that the children really learn from and remember.Teacher Key Stage 2

“My visit to the museum made me feel interested and curious because I wanted to find out more all the time. It was fantastic!” Student Year 4
