The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize is this year accompanied by the People’s Pick, allowing exhibition visitors the opportunity, for the first time, to vote for their favourite portrait in the show.

This year 7,038 votes were cast between 17 November 2016 and 12 February 2017. The overall winner was Frances by Josh Redman, which received 621 votes. In second place was John by Tom Merilion (419 votes) and, in third place, Boy Scout by Karl Ohiri and Riikka Kassinen (333 votes).

The public vote is now closed, but visitors to the exhibition are still able to register their choice and enter our prize draw to win a Leica camera and Afternoon Tea for Two in the Portrait Restaurant.

One winner will receive a Leica Sofort instant camera in a choice of orange, mint or white, with matching strap, case and two colour film packs (40 exposures) and a Leica Sofort photo album, worth £320. Designed to capture the spontaneous moments in life and immediately share with friends and family, the new Leica Sofort combines the world of Leica inspiration, creativity and expertise with the fun and fascination of instant film photography.
