Jessica Mary Rawson

Warden, Merton College, Oxford since 1994. Educated at New Hall, Cambridge and London University. Rawson began her art history career in the Department of Oriental Antiquities at the British Museum as an Assistant Keeper in 1967, and Keeper (1987-94). Books include Animals in Art (1977), Chinese Bronzes, Art and Ritual (1987), The British Museum Book of Chinese Art (1992) and New Discoveries of the Early Dynasties (1996). Awarded a CBE in 1994.
